Forum: etree Subject: Browse Artist by year......

I would really like to go to my favorite artist (like I used to be able to do) and see a list of all the years, and then, click on the year I'm interested in browsing, and then see each of the shows available from that year (again, just like I USED to be able to do)
I used to be huge into this site, I would check it every single day (2-3 times a day sometimes), but now this site is all messed up, and everything is confusing.

I thought when you guys were going to change the site, you said it would be made easier to find the shows you were looking for, but in fact you have made this extremely inconvienient.

please, I really love my live music, and I like to download it faster than I can using a bit torrent client.
Please, someone, get back to me and show me that the option is still available, and that I'm just missing something.

1. Simply go to the "browse all artists collection pages in the live music archive" (top of page in middle under the BROWSING AND FINDING SHOWS section. [or a little below that in the middle of the page you can click directly on "grateful dead" collection to get right to that collection]

2. Click on this link and you'll see a listing of all the artists.

3. Choose any artist and you'll find yourself in the artist collection page. Click on the artist link at this point and you'll be taken to a page with certain options. Click on, for example, browse by date or browse by year. If you click on browse by year, you'll see a listing of all the years. Click on a year. You'll now see a listing of shows for that year. To the right you can click on sort by date, by relevance, by rating, etc. NOTE: if you want to see the show source (soundboard, etc.) in the summary listing, look to the lower right side of the screen and select the toggle for showing source.

A couple of extra clicks, but basically the same thing you had before, with additional search options that you can also use if so inclined.

Extra special thanks go out to both of you, I really mean it.

It's still not as great as it used to be, but when people start tweaking a good thing it never is as great as it was, I'm just going to have to deal......

Hey, just a thought to the ADMINS......
how about a classic view choice for those of us who loved the old site?

I can't think that by making it harder to find the shows that one wants, makes this site appealing to new users.....

i was confused at first but managed to figure it out.at the front page click (by band) this will take you to the band list, click the act you want, a list of dates will appear, click any date and this takes you to the page for that show, near the top of the page it says collection and the acts name, click collection, this takes you to the acts main page where you will find the magic words "by year" just under the acts photo click it and you are there. its not as long as it might seem to get there but i agree it was better the old way
